Josie Wadelton

Josie Wadelton is an Italian-born Melbourne based artist whose studio-based practice focuses on painting, collage, installation art and new media. She has been involved in many group shows and has had several solo exhibitions in Melbourne. Maintaining an interest in literature and censorship, Josie held a successful solo show at St.Kilda Library, replicating the books which had been burned in Berlin in 1933 under orders from Dr Goebbels, the Propaganda Minister. This exhibition was inspired by her trip to Berlin only a few months earlier where she interacted with Law students from Humboldt University where the book-burnings took place.
